Starting a Phone Call

Making a call:
- "Hello, this is [Name] calling from [Company]."
- "Hi, could I speak to [Name] please?"
- "Good morning, I'm calling about..."

Receiving a call:
- "Hello, [Name] speaking."
- "Good afternoon, [Company], how can I help you?"

During the Call

Asking for repetition:
- "I'm sorry, could you repeat that please?"
- "Could you speak a little more slowly?"
- "I didn't catch that — could you say it again?"

Checking understanding:
- "So, just to confirm..."
- "Let me make sure I've understood correctly..."

Asking someone to wait:
- "Could you hold on a moment, please?"
- "I'll just put you on hold for a second."

Ending a Call

  • "Thank you for calling."
  • "I'll get back to you on that."
  • "Have a great day. Goodbye!"
