Question Types

There are two main types of simple questions:

Yes/No questions are questions that you answer with "Yes" or "No." They start with Do, Does, Did, Is, Are, Can, or Have.

He, She, It Does + subject + verb? Does she work here?

Examples:

- Do they have a cat?

Answers:
- Yes, I do. / No, I don't.
- Yes, he does. / No, he doesn't.

Question words ask for specific information. The common question words are:
